ROSIÉ has released a new neck joint plate that aims to achieve a vintage sound while eliminating allergy concerns.
The product name is “SURGICAL STAINLESS NECK PLATE”.
Lightweight and oxidation-resistant
The material is SUS316L, or stainless steel. Among the stainless steel called surgical stainless steel, SUS316L is especially strong and the oxide film is hard to break. The oxide film makes it difficult for metal to come into contact with sebum and sweat, and suppresses the generation of metal ions that can cause metal allergies.
Product weight aimed at vintage-like
It weighs 36 g and is 1.5 mm thick. There are reasons why we aimed for these numbers. First, here is the result of actually collecting data from several plates.

As you can see, vintage (and replica) tends to be thin and light. On the other hand, the widely available ones are thicker and heavier, and the Freedom Tone Shift Plate is a more extreme version of this.
Since Freedom has been making great products in the thicker and heavier direction, ROSIÉ has made products in the thinner and lighter direction, i.e., closer to vintage.
In fact, when I replaced the joint plate with ROSIÉ / SURGICAL STAINLESS NECK PLATE, which weighs 50g and has a thickness of about 2.0mm, I felt that the high frequency range was slightly suppressed and the strength of the middle range became more pronounced.
I also experimented with replacing the plate with a vintage bass plate, but I think it is difficult to distinguish the change.
So, for those who are currently using common plates and want to get a more vintage feeling, we think this plate will have a certain effect.
